Interim E-commerce Manager for online stores

I join your company right away and take responsibility for the store’s results: sales, margin, campaigns, team and data. During a hiring process, a period of change or while you prepare for the next stage.

I start with an audit and quick wins. I review campaigns, the store and processes, and then implement what will improve results fastest. I run campaigns myself, and I hand store changes and more complex analytics to your IT team or trusted partners and take responsibility for their work.

  • An audit of campaigns, the store and processes with a list of quick wins
  • A team assessment, proposed role changes and hiring for missing roles
  • Campaigns set up for margin, and a handover to my successor at the end of the contract

What I'm responsible for as an interim e-commerce manager

    Audit and quick wins

    • An audit of campaigns, the store and processes: what works and what only costs money
    • Quick wins in campaigns, on product pages and in the checkout path
    • Margin by category and product, plus a dashboard showing sales and marketing costs

    Campaigns and analytics

    • I set up campaigns in Google, Meta and TikTok, plus affiliate marketing, for margin and run them myself
    • I configure the product feed and basic e-commerce analytics in GA4 and Google Tag Manager myself, and hand more complex implementations to partners
    • I don't build stores. I know Shopify, Shopware, Magento and WordPress, among others, so I specify changes for your IT team or partners and check the result

    Team, roles and hiring

    • I assess the team and your agencies, and propose changes in scope or a reshuffle of roles
    • I hire for missing roles, from the job description to onboarding
    • Retention and automation (e.g. Klaviyo or Synerise) are implemented with partners under my supervision, and at the end I hand the role over to my successor

When do you need an interim e-commerce manager?

I usually join an online store in one of these situations. If you’re looking for ongoing work with no end date, see Fractional CMO.

Your head of e-commerce is leaving

Hiring will take months, and the store can't wait, especially before peak season. I start right away and help you write the job description and hire a successor.

    Sales grow, margin doesn't

Campaigns scale revenue, but profitability and customer acquisition cost are getting out of control. The audit shows where margin leaks, and I make the first corrections immediately.

    Results have stalled

Campaigns, the store and the team all work, but sales don't grow. I start with an audit, look for quick wins in campaigns and on the store, and implement them in the first weeks.

    The team needs changes

You have people and agencies, but you're not sure it's the right setup. I assess the team and the split of responsibilities, propose changes or a reshuffle of roles, and hire for missing roles.

You're growing the store without investors

Every euro you spend on marketing has to pay for itself. I start with the channels and improvements that pay back fastest and grow the budget together with revenue.

    Funding round, investor or exit

Before a round, results have to be repeatable and well documented, and after the investment the store has to grow fast. I put data and KPIs in order, and then help deliver the growth in the business plan.

How much does an interim e-commerce manager cost?

Interim is a fixed-term role. Prices exclude VAT, and you get the exact amount and a plan for the first 90 days after a free consultation.

    Interim Growth
    from €3,500

    per month, excl. VAT

When the store has a team or an agency, but nobody to lead them and own the result.

    • Audit and quick wins in the first month
    • I run the most important campaigns myself
    • Team assessment and oversight of partners
    • A monthly report for leadership, weekly meetings
    Interim Strategy
    from €6,000

    per month, excl. VAT

The full head of e-commerce role for the length of the contract, when the store needs to be rebuilt or prepared for the next stage.

    • Everything in Interim Growth
    • E-commerce strategy, budget and KPIs
    • Changes in the team and roles, plus hiring
    • More days a week with your company and a handover to my successor

The amount depends on how many days a week I work for your company and how long the contract lasts, e.g. 6 months. You pay each month in advance, on a B2B contract with an invoice in EUR. You pay the ad budget directly to the platforms, and I sign an NDA at the quote stage.

    About me

    Jędrzej Zarychta, Fractional CMO
    12+years of experience
    150+projects
    delivered

I’m Jędrzej Zarychta, and for more than 12 years I’ve worked where marketing, business and technology meet. At the KERRIS agency I built the digital marketing department from scratch and ran it, responsible for client budgets, the department’s results and the team. At Hemp Juice I went from external advisor to co-owner, and then to selling 100% of the shares to a Swedish corporation.

As a Fractional CMO and Interim Growth Manager I’ve worked with companies including Holi Health, Tutlo, Natu.Care and heycar Group, and as Interim E-commerce Manager I supported ESTYL.pl, the online store with the widest range of hair care products in Poland: more than 7,000 products and more than 100 brands. I studied e-business at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and management and sociology at Kozminski University.

I keep learning, with CXL courses and Google’s Internetowe Rewolucje program behind me. I use AI fluently to improve work and processes, and I also know when it’s better not to.

    How I work

    • I’m your single point of contact and take responsibility for the whole project, including the partners’ work
    • I advise, and when needed, I advise against
    • I base decisions on numbers: CAC, ROAS, LTV and margin
    • I work remotely with clients across Europe and the US, and on-site or hybrid in Warsaw (CET), in English or Polish
    • Invoices in EUR (reverse-charge VAT for EU companies), a simple B2B contract in English, NDA at the quote stage

    What clients say

Jędrzej helped me open new affiliate channels and improve Meta and Google Ads, remarketing and analytics accuracy
I had the opportunity to work with Jędrzej as Growth Manager for the Natu.Care brand, where he helped me in several key areas: launching new affiliate channels, improving the performance of paid Meta and Google channels, and improving remarketing and analytics accuracy. Jędrzej showed great energy and was proactive in taking new initiatives from concept to execution, efficiently and in line with the strategy. I recommend Jędrzej to any brand, from early stage to scale.

Jędrzej is an excellent fit for anyone looking for someone who combines strategic thinking and willingness to execute fast

I worked with Jędrzej on Holi from the very beginning and he helped us tremendously to gain early traction and understand what need to be done in the Growth area. Jędrzej is very knowledgeable in his field, but was always willing to expand his knowledge in our domain to get the job done. He's an excellent fit for anyone looking for someone who combines strategic thinking and planning with the ability and willingness to execute fast.

High commitment, a constant drive to grow and an understanding of business goals

KERRIS could not have grown so fast or built so many performance marketing capabilities without you on board. High commitment, a constant drive to grow and an understanding of business goals are just a few of the qualities I always valued in our work together. We keep our fingers crossed for your next steps, and if you ever want to come back to agency life, the door is always open 🙂

Interim e-commerce manager: frequently asked questions

    Working together

What does an interim e-commerce manager do?

For a fixed period, they take responsibility for the online store's results: sales, margin, campaigns, analytics, the team and partners. I start with an audit and quick wins, and then put the team, processes and growth plan in order.

Can you be our interim head of e-commerce or head of growth?

Yes. The job title depends on the company, and the scope is similar: for the length of the contract I'm responsible for store sales, margin, campaigns and the team.

    Where do you start?

With an audit of campaigns, the store, processes and the team. In the first weeks I implement quick wins, and then I prepare a plan for the following months, with KPIs and a budget.

How long is an interim manager usually hired for?

We agree the period upfront, e.g. 6 months, and adjust it to your actual needs as we go.

Do you work as an interim manager for companies outside Poland?

Yes, remotely. I work with teams across Europe and the US in English, and on-site or hybrid in Warsaw (CET). I also step in at Polish subsidiaries of international companies.

Do you take over the existing team and agencies?

Yes. First I assess the team and your agencies, then I propose changes in scope or a reshuffle of roles. I coordinate people and partners and hold them accountable for results.

Will you help us hire a permanent e-commerce manager?

Yes, from the job description and interviews to onboarding and the handover of responsibilities.

Which platforms do you work with?

Shopify, Shopware, Magento, WordPress and similar. I don't build or code stores, but I know these platforms well enough to specify changes for your IT team or partners and check the result. I configure basic e-commerce analytics in GA4 and Google Tag Manager myself, and hand more complex implementations to partners.

Do you help B2B companies start selling online?

Yes. I work both with B2B wholesalers and with brands selling direct to consumers, so I help combine the two models so that the new channel doesn't cannibalize existing sales.

    Pricing and contract

Interim e-commerce manager or fractional CMO?

Interim is a fixed-term role: I run e-commerce from the inside and at the end hand the role over to my successor. Fractional CMO is ongoing work with no end date, where I'm responsible for all of marketing.

How much does an interim e-commerce manager cost?

I price interim work monthly, in two options: Interim Growth from €3,500 and Interim Strategy from €6,000 per month, excl. VAT. The amount depends on the number of days a week and the length of the contract. I give you an exact quote after a free consultation.

Is the ad budget included in the price?

No. You pay the ad budget directly to the platforms, e.g. Google or Meta. I only invoice my own work.

    How does billing work?

You pay each month in advance, on a B2B contract in English with an invoice in EUR. EU companies get a reverse-charge VAT invoice.

    Do you sign NDAs?

Yes, already at the quote stage.

    Still not sure?

Your satisfaction is the foundation of my business. Thank you for every referral!
